When we opened Paper & Pencil in early 2023, the planner world was something we were just beginning to understand. Over the past year – thanks to our customers, fellow shopkeepers, and hours of research – we’ve learned more about the types of planners you love and what goals you have for the planners you use.
As we head into the fall of 2024, we’re excited to announce that we’re offering a full range of dated planners for 2025!
Our available brands for the coming year include Hobonichi, Midori, MD Paper, Penco, nähe, Hightide, Appointed, mishmash, Stalogy, MARK’S, and TRAVELER’S COMPANY.

HOBONICHI
Hobonichi Techo planners are renowned for their exceptional design and versatility, making them a favorite among journaling enthusiasts and productivity aficionados alike.
Originating from Japan, these planners offer a unique blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, characterized by their high-quality paper, minimalist design, and thoughtful features.
The Hobonichi Techo is available in various formats, including the A6, A5, Weeks, and Cousin sizes, each tailored to different planning needs and preferences.
One of the standout benefits of the Hobonichi Techo is its Tomoe River paper, which is known for its thin yet durable quality. This paper allows for a smooth writing experience while minimizing bleed-through, making it ideal for fountain pens, gel pens, and even markers.

The standard Hobonichi Techo is set up with a daily page layout, which provides ample space for detailed daily entries, alongside a monthly and yearly calendar overview. This structure supports a variety of uses, from meticulous planning and scheduling to free-form journaling and creative expression.
The Weeks format features a weekly horizontal calendar on the left page and a blank memo page on the right page. This style is great for work, scheduling, and tracking.
The HON style has an integrated hardcover with various exterior designs on the outside and the standard techo layout on the inside.

An important note regarding Hobonichi at Paper & Pencil…
Due to the way we order our Hobonichi stock, we do not have full access to every Hobonichi item. We will have the Hobonichi items listed above in stock this fall. They will be available for purchase beginning during our Planner Preview Week in October.
We will not have the following items in stock: covers, cover on covers, additional pencil boards, notebooks, memo pads, stickers, stencils, additional page keepers, Japan-only exclusives, 5-Year Techo, two-book set Avec, Sunday-start date, or One Piece branded products.

MIDORI & MD PAPER
Another Japanese brand we love (and you do too!) is Midori and their MD Paper. This year we’ll be stocking planner products from both brands.
Midori Pocket Diaries
The Pocket Diary from Midori features adorable and colorful illustrations throughout along with monthly and weekly dated calendar views, memo space each week, and extensive appendix pages. The pages have different patterns to give you a fresh experience throughout the year—there’s something new to look forward to every time you turn the page!

Midori Hibino
The Midori Hibino is a planner, diary, and notebook all in one!
The Hibino from Midori features beautiful, thin, and fountain pen-friendly Tomoe River S paper inside. Each page has a 2.5mm ruled format for easy drawing of illustrations and diagrams. You’ll have two pages for each day of the year – plenty of space for journaling, tasks, tracking, doodling, and memory keeping. Each day features a 24-hour vertical clock and weather icons for easy lifelogging. Plus you’ll find monthly block pages to keep track of appointments at a glance and a Future Log where you can write down your monthly goals and appointments.

Midori Diary Books
Midori Diary Books combine a planner and journal into a sturdy, cute, and easy to carry book format. A hard book cloth cover features animal illustrations and soft colors. For 2025 you’ll be able to shop all available designs at Paper & Pencil including covers featuring cats and dogs in blue, golden yellow, light brown, and gray.
Here’s what you’ll find inside the Diary Books from Midori:
- 176 pages of MD Paper, which is bleed resistant, feather resistant, and fountain pen friendly.
- Yearly calendar, schedule, and future log pages covering January 2025 through December 2025.
- Monthly calendars for January 2025 through December 2025. Each month gets a two-page spread, giving you enough space to note your most important reminders for each day.
- Weekly diary pages covering December 30, 2024 through January 4, 2026. Each week is divided into a few lines per day, with a Monday-start format.
- 24 additional dot grid pages.
- Wish list, habit tracker, book log, sleep log, and collection pages at the end of the book.
- Sturdy thread binding that lies flat when open, making it easy to write.

Midori MD Diaries at Paper & Pencil
Midori MD Diaries feature the signature simple look and feel of Midori MD Notebooks with dated entries to help you organize your schedule, thoughts, tasks, and memories.

Planners and Diaries from Penco, nähe, and Hightide are all designed in Japan and feature a variety of sizes, styles, colors, and interior setups. They all feature smooth, cream, fountain pen-friendly paper throughout along with clean, simple, and retro-inspired interior layouts.
We recommend you stop in the shop and check out these options in person to pick the best planner for you!

Appointed
Founded by graphic designer Suann Song in 2016, Appointed is a Washington, DC-based company making beautiful notebooks and stationery supplies here in America. Acid and chlorine-free paper is bound in water-resistant cotton bookcloth with the entire manufacturing process happening in Washington, DC.
Available Styles at Paper & Pencil: This year we’ll be stocking the Daily Diary Planner, Monthly Planner, Compact Task Planner, Weekly Task Planner, and Full-Size Task Planner (along with Wall, Studio, and Desk Calendars).
mishmash
mishmash is a woman-owned brand based in Porto, Portugal, known for their bright, bold, and simple notebooks and planners. We love their commitment to sustainability with their tree-planting initiatives just as much as we love their products filled with fountain pen-friendly paper and clean and simple designs.

Stalogy
For 2025 we are offering the Stalogy Editor's Series Monthly Diaries in both A5 and B6 Slim sizes and Black and Gray covers. These simple diaries feature 40 pages with annual calendars for both 2025 and 2026 along with monthly calendars from December 2024 through March 2026 and 5 pages of grid paper in the back.
Stalogy Diaries are the perfect supplement to your planner stack or notebook collection for 2025 thanks to their simple style, easy layout, and lovely Japanese paper.
MARK’S
MARK’S is another fun Japanese brand that we've recently introduced at Paper & Pencil! We're excitecd to offer a smaller selection of their 2025 planners and calendars starting in October.
Their Edit Planner features one page per day with plenty of room for planning, task management, and memory keeping.
The Temporary Storage.It planners feature a zipper pocket front and a monthly schedule inside.
Lastly, the Notebook Calendar from MARK’S has been a customer favorite for nearly 20 years. The coil-bound calendar features a dated monthly layout and yearly overview – perfect for families, students, and professionals alike. The layout and style makes the Notebook Calendar easy to transport and perfect for appointments, vacation plannin, work scheduling, and organizing family tasks, chores, and schedules.
TRAVELER’S COMPANY
Last in our 2025 Planner Lineup is TRAVELER’S COMPANY! Each year, TRAVELER’S announces a special theme for their limited edition annual products.
The theme for 2025 is LOVE AND TRIP and features the retro, hand illustrated, and typography-filled designs you already know and love from TRAVELER’S!
Please note: this collection will not be available until late October!
For 2025 we will have: Dated Standard Size inserts in Monthly, Weekly Vertical, and Weekly + Memo formats; Dated Passport Size inserts in Monthly and Weekly formats; Sticker Sets, Plastic Sheets, and Folders. For the 2025 Diary refills, there is a Guide and a customizing sticker included in each set.
